The project team leader is the primary contact person at NEK for the Customer.
NEK also practices establishing project teams for unique transportation ventures unparalleled in local or international logistics.
Unique logistic solutions
Ever since its entry into the logistics market NEK Group of Companies has been involved in endeavors far surpassing routine cargo transportation and delivery.
Operating in the area of gas and oil industry NEK is used to getting nontrivial assignments from its Customers that include delivery of oversized, super-heavy, and other non-standard cargoes. Often matters are complicated by the cargo's export origin as well as multi-modal transportation route from production site to Customer.
More details of some unique transportation projects accomplished by NEK are viewable in our Showcase section.
IT solutions
Depending on project scope and complexity NEK IT Department may be commissioned to develop a task-oriented soft- and hardware solution.
A need for task-oriented development is determined by the following factors:
a) Project tasks proper.
b) Customer requirements, such as custom reporting, data upload into Customer's ERP system, electronic accounting needs, etc.
Far North and West Siberia
NEK Group of Companies has extensive experience in the area of oil and gas industry. Details on the projects NEK is involved in are available in our Project section.
It's a well-known fact that the largest Russian gas and oil deposits are located in the Far North and West Siberia regions. NEK Group has established itself as a reliable logistic service provider in these regions for major oil and gas ventures, e.g., Naryanmarneftegas.
Involvement in such major projects has enabled NEK to create a dependable transportation and logistics network in the regions of Far North and West Siberia. NEK has long-term commitments with leading shipping companies of Arkhangelsk, Murmansk, and Saint-Petersburg, direct contacts with key railway stations, special warehouse facilities for equipment storage and unloading.
Besides NEK can offer an option of using its own special heavy-duty truck fleet for transportation of oversized and heavy cargoes upon winter roads (zimnik), off roads, etc.
Special truck fleet
NEK Group has its own fleet of heavy-duty vehicles dedicated to highly demanding tasks, such as loading/unloading and hauling of super-heavy and oversized cargo across roadless terrain of Far North and West Siberia.
The fleet is composed of such vehicles as powerful 'Uragan' (Hurricane), all-wheel-drive "Urals" and 'KamAZes', as well as loading equipment.
Furthermore the Group's wide network of business partners allows discovery and prompt delivery of necessary equipment to any works site. Use of such machinery is defined in technical specifications for a given project that NEK specialists develop for each Customer based on Customer's requirements (see Project Approach).
Office network in CIS and worldwide
Being a part of large-scale, multi-part, long-range projects NEK Group has formed its own network of offices and business units that help address issues locally.
For instance, NEK's unique system of rail car tracking required setting up of a network of local data-collection units capable to report car movements in real-time mode. This arrangement allows NEK to avoid data flow delays like those caused when car data is received through the Ministry's of Railways Computer Center. Besides, Russian Ministry of Railways doesn't 'see' car movements in CIS countries or abroad.
NEK's local offices also help maintain close contact with local railway management, port authorities, customs and other state agencies.
Today NEK has more than 30 offices in Russia, CIS, and worldwide. All NEK offices are linked into corporate computer network which allows instant data exchange on all operation and cargo movements globally (see Data Services).
